Review :
Truly the best Aircooled VW mag
This is a fantastic aircooled magazine. It consists of great pictures, event coverage, and helpful tech articles. Sure, that is standard for many magazines but the presentation is what makes it stand out. Hot VWs manages to draw their readers in and make them feel like they are part of the VW community. Something I don't feel other VW mags do well. They cover more customized VWs but will present stockers as well. This magazines also has great information if you are interested in high performance engines and are into the racing scene. Finally, they have several recurring themes each year, such as the February California Look issue (my favorite) or the Baja issue, etc. I have been a buyer/subscriber for the last 10 years and I plan on continuing as long as they are in print. Highly recommended!
Ordered months ago, have never received an issue yet
I usually like this mag, at least I used to when I had a subscription in the past many years ago.
I've heard it's more ads than content now but even that I'm OK with if it allows me to find sources for parts for my split window bus.
However I ordered this months ago and have yet to receive my first issue. I don't see what is so difficult about sending it out. No wonder print is dying.
Just go to the store and buy your copy. That's what it looks like I have to do, and I paid for a subscription.
Pains me to leave this review and I'm a huge air cooled enthusiast and there isn't much print media left for us like there used to be, but it is what it is and that's the way she goes.
If I had ever started receiving issues I'm sure I'd be leaving a 4 or 5 star review instead.

good magazine-slow delivery
My Husband and I love reading this magazine! Do we receive it at our home? NO! WE read it at Barnes and Noble. It's got awesome ideas and is worth the money. The funny thing is that I ordered it from Amazon for my husband in July, and it's not here at Halloween. So, magazine is cool, and makes a great gift. Just don't expect to receive it by Christmas if you are giving it as a gift, because it probably won't arrive until March!

good magazine for newbies to RVing....
We're newbies to the RV lifestyle. This is a great magazine to become acquainted with all you need to learn. The advertisements are very informative...and help to make you aware of different products on the market that you may or may not need. The articles are full of good all-around tips and travel ideas. I'll be renewing our subscription......again.
All Advertisements!
Now I understand a magazine has to advertise to make money, however this is mainly advertisements. If you are looking to buy a Travel trailer or a truck then this is your magazine. If you are looking for tips to care for your existing travel trailer or neat ideas/helpful tips then do not buy they are very scarce. There is usually a feature about a destination in every issue however I will probably never go across the country to them.
A must read for travel trailer owners
I cannot begin to tell you how helpful this informative magazine has been for a newbie travel trailer camper such as myself.
I highly recommend "Trailer Life" to all campers that own a travel trailer, or is thinking about purchasing one.
You will be glad that you ordered it, and the price is right.
The only downside for me about this magazine is when I am finished reading my last months issue, I can't wait to read the next months issue.

Horrible customer service but great magazine
Hachette Filipacchi Media has horrible customer service. Several months ago, they mailed me a renewal offer for $10 for 24 issues (2-years) which I submitted with a personal check. They cashed in my check and I checked my account online only to discovered they only renewed it for 12 more issues. I emailed them and was told that they have lots of offers and only one for $10/12-issues. I sent them my offer code and even scanned a copy of the letter I received, but they would not honor their own offer and claimed that they had a 24-issue offer for $12.00. Notwithstanding, it took on average 3-4 days before I would get a reply. I did not even bother calling them because it was long-distance and I was sure I'd be placed on hold longer than I'd like. After weeks of communication, they finally agreed to honor their $10/24 issue offer.
For this much hassle, I have to drop the rating down to 2/5 stars but only because of the publishing company. I hate to do this because I feel the...
The best all-purpose motorcycle mag.
I've been reading Cycle World since 1977 and it's by far the best all-round motorcycle mag you can get. It covers every aspect of motorcycling, including sport bikes, dirt bikes, standards, cruisers, racing articles, top-notch technical articles by experts like Kevin Cameron, wonderful features and articles by Peter Egan (America's most beloved moto-journalist), op-ed pages, etc. It covers British, Italian, American, Japanese and German bikes alike, with detailed performance and technical data. Even the advertising is good. It's a fun read, from front to back. Cycle World is a high quality magazine, just like its sister publication for car lovers, Road & Track.
Great MAGAZINE
I've been a suscriber of this magazine for about 15 years and find it the most well rounded writings of the motorcycle offerings in the US.
If you are looking for a broad interest in motorcycle coverage this is it. For the price to content ratio this magazine remains a constant in my readings. I currently read about 4 brands a month and Cycle World is the first one I pick up.

Contributors:
Regular contributors include restoration pros, automotive technicians and highly experienced hobbyists as well. Reader participation is also featured as most of our readers are “hands-on” enthusiasts themselves. Among our contributors are Larry Lyles, a pro with some three decades of experience and his own shop. He’s the author of three restoration books and will have a fourth published later this year. Richard Prince, another restoration veteran with decades of experience, writes our monthly Mechanic on Duty question-and-answer column. He’s written several Corvette restoration and buyer’s guides. Milt Webb, also known as “Milt the Instructor,” is a tune-up expert who has diagnosed and repaired everything from Model Ts to current vehicles. He’s also the author of “Tuning Up Autos and Trucks.”
Magazine Layout
Rather than a glossy format, Auto Restorer is printed on no-glare paper that displays color and detail beautifully. The Table of Contents is right on the cover for handy reference, and step-by-step detail photos from actual projects are paired with easy-to-understand instructions.

Review :
Well worth the cost...
If you restore cars as a hobby, this is the publication for you. The tech is great and many web sites for hard to find parts are mentioned.
Auto Restorer Magazine
If you are looking for a very well written, friendly car or truck restoration magazine, this is a very good choice. What I found was that the writers are down to earth, experienced and good communicators. This is a good choice for beginners and advanced restorers. The articles are useful and educational and no nonsense. With 30 years playing with cars I found this magazine only recently, after a 1 year renewal I decided to renew for 2 more years. You will have fun with this magazine.
A Resource Gold Mine For Restorers
Hands down, this is the best publication I've seen for those of us who get our hands dirty and do most of our own work. I can't count the number of times I've referred to my "archive" of back issues to get information I needed to bail me out of a fix. If you like doing your own work, then this is the publication you want to have in your shop. You should consider this publication as mandatory reading.
