Review :
Crafty crochet magazine
Crochet World is more "crafty" than other crochet magazine and stays with more conservative styles in wearables. Some of the recommended yarns aren't my favorites, but you can always substitute and I sometimes re-imagine them to suit myself. If you like crochet stuffed animals, seasonal decorations, baskets, rugs, doilies, etc. this may be the magazine for you. Not my highest rated crochet magazines since I prefer more wearables and modern patterns, but this magazine has its own special niche.

Look beneath the surface...
When I first looked at Crochet World magazine, it struck me as my grandmother's crochet magazine--dated patterns for products that no one under 90 would ever make. But as time went on I found it to be the magazine I returned to over and over again. Why? Because it has patterns for items you actually use in your day-to-day life, because it has patterns for items that are quick and easy to make for gifts, and because it actually interacts with the readers, answering questions and offering advice. And if a pattern looked too hokey at first glance, I invariably found myself coming back to it as a reference for something else--if there was no way that I would ever wear that scarf, for example, I would soon find myself needing to know how to do the stitch they used to make it. The other magazines usually had items I found visually appealing but realized I would never bother to make, so what was the point? I spend a fair amount of time going through each crochet magazine before I buy...
Crochet World Rocks!
This is the best crochet magazine on the market today. Not only does it feature a variety or crocheted patterns, it uses easily found material that are not ultra-expensive. I love their columns and designers. I especially like the Crochet Potpourri column that lets me write in and ask other readers for particular patterns. They have been publishing for over 25 years and boy, do they do it right! I tell all my crocheting friends about this terrific magazine.

Review :
Need to update their style
This magazine is stuck in the 1980's - the style of most of the projects looks like stuff my grandmother would like (pictures of fruit and flowers). They rarely (although it DOES happen occasionaly - ie: Blackbird Designs was in there last year, with a great project) include the newer artists or styles. The exception is the yearly JCS Ornaments special edition - that is a must have, but I don't know if it is part of the yearly subscription. Most of the projects are still on aida, and most of them, again, are very outdated in style. I'd like to see more historical projects, more samplers, and more updated projects on linen before I will buy this magazine again.

I love this magazine
This is the only magazine, I keep in my collection. I have used several charts to make gifts. I also trade some of my patterns with Cross-Stitchers all over the world. This is one I will renew for years to come.

Pretty nice mag
I subscribe to almost every cross stitch mag available this one is one of the better ones, It has a variety of subject matter and black and white charts. Also has some nice comments. However, there is no what people have stitched section (Like the UK mags have) and very few articles for actual reading
