This magazine helped me and my husband with so many great ideas when we were planning our wedding. I got back online to order it as a gift for three friends who are engaged and planning weddings this year. It's always full of great unique ideas easily adaptable to different weddings and often things you can easily do yourself! A must for a simply elegant wedding!!

Great ideas

Even though I'm in the wedding industry, there are a lot of things about getting married that I didn't know. I have found this magazine great for ideas from the big stuff down to the very smallest detail.

Way Overpriced Ideas

I get it, some people like luxury a lot, and I don't mind paying for quality, but when you start recommending 200.00 per person gifts for each wedding guest you've gone overboard. Unfortunately most of this magazine is ads for overpriced coture dresses that are just plain ugly, and that is my review from more than 6 issues in.

Best value among bridal magazines I've seen
I get Martha Stewart's, Brides, and Bridal Guide magazines. (I'm a magazine addict... and there was a magazine sale on Amazon...) The price for Brides magazine is pretty good, and I like that you get 12 a year. (Martha is only 4 and Bridal Guide is 6.) I can't say that it has really outstanding articles; a majority of the magazine is ads -- but I basically look through the ads/pictures to get ideas for what I want and rip them out when I find something I like.

The articles that they do have, I have found pretty helpful or at the very least entertaining. I think that their articles are better than Bridal Guide at least. Martha Stewart I feel is more crafty, but if you sign up to her wedding newsletter... you basically get the magazine in pieces through email for free anyway...

They have the basics - advise column, new/fun highlights, seasonal wedding spreads, male editor doing 1 task for his wedding a month, honeymoon planning section, and then usually a...

The three real contenders are Bridal Guide, Bride's and Modern Bride. Bride's and Modern Bride seem to be the same magazine sometimes, and in fact are now owned by the same people. If you want something more suited to a "real bride", it would seem that Bridal Guide is your best choice.

If you have $10,000 to spend on your dress, then by all means go for Bride's magazine, but if you are like the rest of us, then Bridal Guide has, BY FAR, the best selection for you. The advice seemed to be geared for regular people trying to have a fabulous wedding, and for the right price too!

There's a wealth of information on planning the event, dealing with inlaws, Honeymoon destinations, buying the dress ... EVERYTHING you could want and more. I love this magazine. Thank you Bridal Guide.

Best of the bridal mags, but you can get a lot of the same info on the web
For my June 2010 wedding, I subscribed to Bridal Guide to get ideas. It is a very useful magazine, with lots and lots of gorgeous pictures and ideas. However, after a few months, I noticed that things tended to be repetitive, which is only to be expected. There's only so many different ways to fold a napkin, or so many different flower petals to sprinkle on the aisle before the bride walks down. The best part of bridal magazines is the pictures of wedding dresses, at least in my book, but they tend to be the same dresses in each issue for a few months, making it less fun to flip through.

The other downside to bridal magazines, and a big part of the reason that a few of them have shut down, is that most of the info can be found in the big bridal websites, and for free. In fact, they often have far more information, since they collect it over a long period of time, giving you plenty of past information to browse through.

One of the worst textbooks

This is one of the worst textbooks I have ever read. It is incredibly confusing and entirely filled with jargon. I do not come from a health care background, but even my classmates are having a hard time wading through this book. If you want to explain something to someone you need to use clear language and this book does not do that. It is extremely frustrating and a painstaking read. It may be new and have all the bells and whistles for professors, but I do not recommend professors to use this book. I am half way through and reading it fully, but I do not feel like I have gained anything from this book.

A Must Have Book for Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) enrolled in Doctoral Programs

For health care professionals (nurses, doctors, pharmacists, nutritionists, etc.), this is a 'must have' book if you are interested in developing programs to improve the health of those in communities you serve. Seeking external funding for health programs requires language and methods not taught in traditional health professional doctoral programs (besides public health and health service research programs). Yet, applications for HRSA funded programs often require health program planning and evaluation approaches that are distinct. This book explains it all in very clear terms. Integrating professional clinical expertise and wisdom into formal 'program planning and evaluation' will enable those with practice wisdom to participate more actively in collaborative efforts to improve health care delivery.

For sure, this is a must have textbook for advanced practice nurses (APNs) enrolled in doctoral programs.

Required for school

Not something I would buy for casual reading but it is super organized and makes sense. If you are doing any sort of program evaluation; even non healthcare planning and evaluation, you will find it helpful!
